Brand new Raven website / Elfsorrow publication details

Great new Raven site goes live – www.ravengazetteer.com

Fans of The Raven now have their own information site. Written by James and designed and hosted by the folks over at The Alien Online, the site provides information on Balaia, the home of The Raven, the legendary mercenary group themselves and insights into culture, history and economics.

‘It’s great to have this site live,’ says James. ‘We’ve been working on it for a while now and I’m delighted at the result. As time goes by, I’m going to be adding further detail, excerpts from magic college lectures and more in depth information on items of interest. I’d like to hear from fans who want background on Balaia, its peoples or The Raven that they haven’t found on the site or in the books. I’ll publish the most popular ideas as soon as I can.’

And why is the site called Raven Gazetteer? ‘Well, a gazetteer is a geographical index so, to use the old advertising cliché, it does what it says on the tin…’

Take a look at the site now at www.ravengazetteer.com.

Elfsorrow publication date

Fans of The Raven will have got used to July publication dates over the years but this time it’s different.

Elfsorrow will be published on August 15th 2002, a month later than expected. ‘I hope fans don’t mind waiting another month,’ said James. ‘The delay was because editing took a great deal longer than I anticipated and came at a time when my flat was being completely renovated, making working quite tricky.

‘Apologies to all those wanting Elfsorrow in July but if it’s any consolation, the editing and ideas after initial drafting have made for a much better book.’
