It's very cool and the series gets better
Just finished reading ‘Transformers: The Veiled Threat’, the prequel to the new film. While it wasn’t a bad book as such, I was left with the feeling that giant transforming robots should really belong either on the screen or in comic books. ‘Transformers’ is a more visual thing that didn’t work for me as a book. My full review is over Here. I’m now finishing off Richard Williams’ ‘Reiksguard’... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

I'm jumping between Wuthering Heights and Sherlock Holmes...after I've just finished a rather disappointing prequel to a quite good German Fantasy-series. _________________ The question that sometimes drives me hazy: Am I, or the others crazy?

Finished reading Richard Williams’ ‘Reiksguard’, a tale of the Reiksguard knights set in the Warhammer universe. It’s a bit slow to start off with but goes on to be chock full of everything I love about books involving knights; desperate last stands, last minute rescues and massed charges! My full review is over Here. I’m now reading David Williams’ ‘Burning Skies’ and Scott Andrews’ ‘Operation Motherland’... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

I fancied a light read to take me up to the weekend so thought I’d go for ‘Operation Motherland’ (Scott Andrews), the latest book in the post- apocalyptic ‘Afterblight Chronicles’. It’s a light, fun read that’s full of hair raising escapades, gunfire and explosions but it doesn’t really stand up to a closer look (frantic pace covers possible plot holes...) My full review is right over Here. I’ve now got David Williams ‘Burning Skies’ and an ARC of Brian Keene’s ‘Urban Gothic’ on the go (plus anything else I feel like picking up over the weekend... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

Just finished The Awakened Mage by Karen Miller. It wasn't a bad book till the last third of the book then it just lost all promise and became very obvious and hard to finish. It read as if she only got paid for two books and had to squish everything into this third and it abounded with cliches...
Going to read the sequel to Jerry Spinelli's Stargirl and Peter Brett's The Painted Man.
Deornath ever heard of Freda Warrington's Blackbird series and if so is it any good??? _________________ The mirror crack'd from side to side |

Finished reading an ARC of Brian Keene's 'Urban Gothic' where a group teenagers learn (the hard way) not to take shelter in that deserted building at the end of the street. This was one intense read with enough gore to make me feel more than a little sick. My full review is over Here. I'm now well into David Gunn's 'Death's Head: Day of the Damned'... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

Ohh thanks, my friend is at me to read it and I am finding it hard enough to find without paying a fortune and was wondering whether it was worth it.
(David Eddings was my first and just learned he passed away last night and feeling nostalgic...)
Thanks as well anyway Deornoth (sorry for the spelling mistake!) _________________ The mirror crack'd from side to side |

Don't worry about it You should see how people spell my real name!
Ended up finishing David Williams' 'Burning Skies' (instead of 'Day of the Damned'), follow up to 'Mirrored Heavens' and a tale of hardcore techno-warfare in the 22nd century. The pacing is a bit choppy in places but still well worth a read for fans of military sci-fi. My full review is over Here. Now it's back to 'Day of the Damned'... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

Finished 'Day of the Damned' this morning. Sven and his crew do what comes naturally to them, blowing stuff up, only this time it's in the middle of a planetary civil war that could have grave repercussions for the Empire. It's not without it's faults but 'Day of the Damned' got me interested in the series all over again after the slightly disappointing 'Maximum Offence'. My full review is over Here. No idea what I'm reading next, plenty to choose from though! _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

Finished Storm Front in nearly no time and now I'm jumping back to Mankells 'One Step behind' which is great but also terribly depressing. _________________ The question that sometimes drives me hazy: Am I, or the others crazy?

Finished reading 'Harry and the Pirates', a short collection of Necroscope stories by Brian Lumley. As this fills in some of the 'Lost Years' gaps, 'Harry and the Pirates' is probably more for long time fans but I still had fun reading it as a first time reader. My full review is over Here. I'm now well into Escober's 'Chaos'... _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review
