Thursday, July 10, 2008The Vault of DeedsAfter much delay, my new novella, 'The Vault of Deeds' has been delivered to PS Publishing. Vault of Deeds is a comedy fantasy poking gentle fun at the whole genre, cramming in cliches, action, a couple of good characters and a whole load of gags. We're hoping to get it out by FantasyCon in September but there's no guarantee as time is tight. Check out my forum for more information, discussion and the answers to any questions on it. It's nice and short and good fun and you can find it here. Friday, May 23, 2008Appearance News - Gamesfest 2008James is appearing at this year's Gamesfest convention on Saturday 4th October. The event, which takes place in Tring, Hertfordshire, is fast becoming a Mecca for gamers, genre fiction and comic fans alike and is described thus: A one day convention to showcase the best of Role playing, Wargaming, Boardgaming & Science fiction/Fantasy literature. James will be doing a signing and generally hanging about answering questions and chatting to anyone who happens along. It's a cheap day out too, with tickets only £5.50 each. I've really enjoyed writing about The Raven again and see this book as a fitting finale (even more fitting than Demonstorm? Well, I leave that to you). Ravensoul is due out in July 2008 in the UK. The title is ‘Ravensoul’ and follows on from the events of Demonstorm (in book terms, ten years after the final battles in Demonstorm and the escape of the surviving members of The Raven back to Balaia). Ravensoul is about how honour and love transcend the boundary of life and death; and how greed and the lust for power can put at risk the lives, and deaths, of everyone. Ravensoul is published in the UK in July 2008. |
