Thanks skandranon and Auum.

I would have thought Tim Curry would have been a better Selik Laughing

Thats not a bad idea Wulfgar. Very Happy
Not sure about Angeline Jolie tho Auum, do you think she could be vulnerable enough. Confused
And what about Tessaya , what a great part he would be to play.

Maybe the way to think about this is to identify actors we like and then try and assign a part to them instead of saying, "who would be a good...?" I've mentioned Alan Rickman and Bernard Hill before, both of whom are fine actors - there must be parts for them.

I'm thinking extras no #137 and #138 fits them Razz only joking, thats not a bad idea, but i think the forum would get a bit clogged of everyone listing loads of actors, but im sure no one would see a problem with it.

- Thats a fair point. How about Kate Blanchett ?

*resurrects thread*

I agree unknown actors would be best but in the event of a monstrous budget, here would be my suggestions.

Bit long I know, but I'm bored, what can I say.

***

THE RAVEN:

The Unknown Warrior / Sol: Clive Owen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0654110/). Some may disagree but IMO it's the same thing as Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Just shave his head and buff him up. If you really want a lesser-known actor then I would say Faran Tahir (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0846687/), who has the advantage of already being bald Smile

Hirad: Karl Urban (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0881631/). Yes he was in LOTR but he's simply too good to leave out. I agree that Hugh Jackman is a great choice but I would prefer Karl, who is just as versatile and funny, and not as well-known.

Ilkar: Jude Law (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000179/). He's got the look and can deliver sarcastic humour well.

Denser: Either Robert Carlyle (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001015/) or Joseph Fiennes (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001212/). Robert may a bit too old to play the part so I have a backup.

Erienne: Rachel Weisz (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001838/). I can't think of anyone I'd cast over Rachel for this part.

Thraun: Mads Mikkelsen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0586568/). He's tall, he can act, and he can do "haunted" pretty well.

Sirendor: Josh Hartnett (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001326/). I would trust him to be as stylish as Sirendor supposedly is, and he'd be able to pull off a super-emotional death scene.

Will: Ioan Gruffudd (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0344435/). Many may not be able to look past his "Mr. Fantastic" role, but he was pretty good as Lancelot in King Arthur.

Ren'erei: Keira Knightley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0461136/).

Aeb: Randy Couture (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1330276/). What? Protectors don't have any real acting parts, right? Cool

Ark: Andrei Arlovski (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1844999/) See reasoning for Aeb's casting. Actually any Protector casting that I would do is totally interchangeable.

THE ELVES:

Rebraal: Eric Bana (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0051509/). Yes he was in Troy but he needs to be in this movie Cool

Auum: Either Ray Park (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0661917/) or Tony Jaa (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1388074/). I can see why some said Mark Dacascos, but he's in his 40's now...

Myriell: Judi Dench (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001132/).

THE COLLEGES:

Styliann: Udo Kier (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001424/).

Vuldaroq: Brian Cox (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004051/). He can play an arrogant, self-righteous, manipulator quite well (the Jason Bourne movies).

Dystran: Stellan Skarsgård (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001745/).

BALAIANS:

Baron Blackthorne: Either Ron Perlman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000579/) or William Hurt (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000458/).

Baron Gresse: Either Tom Skerrit (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000643/) or John Hurt (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000457/).

Selik: Gary Oldman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000198/). Can do crazy better than Tim Roth IMO, witness The Professional (Jean Reno).

Tomas: Bob Hoskins (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001364/). I just really want Bob in this movie, that's all.

Diera: Famke Janssen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000463/). No real reason, I just think she's be good in this role. I would have Rachel Weisz in this role but already have her playing Erienne.

THE KAAN

Sha-Kaan (voice-over): Kevin Conroy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0175834/). If I could only make one casting, just one casting, and have it go through, this would be it. Batman as Sha-Kaan = awesomeness Very Happy

Someone's had his thinking cap on! As ever, this thread is all about different opinions, and I can't say I'm behind every single shout, but Judi Dench as Myriell's a great call. I can really see that.

For me, sign up Alan Rickman and just offer him any part!!!

Welcome to the forum Albert. Very Happy

I like Rachel weisz as Erienne and Mads for Thraun snd Judy Dench is inspired!

Actually the other suggestions aren't bad except Clive Owen.

Alan Rickman as Styliann

Thanks, Lizzy Cool

No love for Clive Owen? Crying or Very sad I actually think he'd be really good, he's got the attitude to pull it off imho.

And I didn't cast Darrick Evil or Very Mad In that case I'd give his part to Josh Hartnett, and Sirendor's to Ioan Gruffudd. Not sure who to play Will in that case...

...For some reason I thought of Simon Pegg but not sure how that would play out Confused

Stellan Skarsgård would be awesome, though like Gary Oldman perhaps too old for Dystran/Selik? I always imagined Selik as being similar in age to Hirad.

Not sure what Ron Perlman would be like as Blackthorne Confused Could always have Jason Isaacs, maybe. I'm not sure (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005042/).

Stellan Skarsgård or Ron Perlman for Gresse?

I'm really struggling to picture people in different roles, but the ones I can think of now are:

Kate Beckinsale as the spy in Dawnthief who gets killed in parve (Yes I know it's very random)

Judi Dench as Myriell, totally agree.

Will Smith as someone lol just want him in there, for some reason I thought of unknown :/

David Cameron's as Drenoul XD sorry I'm watching Mock the Week I couldn't resist.

Still thinking, it's really difficult.

oooo Arnie as Tessaya?
