Land and queen

There was a land, desolate and bleak,
On the road to destruction,
Along came a woman, tender and meek,
Full of quiet seduction.

She took the land by storm,
She became it's queen,
The land she held became reborn,
She alone had believed.

The land she'd embraced,
Become the land cherished,
Love is the sweetest taste,
And land and queen are never famished.

Surrender Together

Love is a scary thing,
It's ok to be afraid,
But if you let your guard down,
We can surrender together.

I may not be the perfect man,
And you may not be the perfect girl,
But if we hang on together,
We can surrender together.

There are times I feel alone,
Desperate and cold,
But I always know you're there,
So we can surrender together.

Those are two poems that I wrote tonight (yes, I am still awake and like I said, when I'm tired, words just fall out of me.)(Fall out of me...what an image Razz) They're both about my girlfriend, Joanna (just for the newbies, I'm sure the others knew who it was about Razz)

When I say poem, I mean song. Neither has a chorus yet. Or music. So, for the time being, they are poems.

Yeah, me too, which is a bummer because I spent half the time on it, like, 2 minutes Razz as opposed to 5 for the other.

Well, this is a try to translate a poem, I wrote last night, into english. I think it's not as bad, as I feared, just some lines were difficult to translate.

I still don't want to believe
That I'll never see your smile again
I still don't want to believe
That I'll never hear your voice again

I still don't want to belive
Our time was far to short
Your time was far to short

I just can't understand
Why?
You had so many plans
Destroyed
You thought you had so many time left
We all thought so
An now?
One Moment. One Second. One Instance.
And everything is over
You're over
That's not true!
Or is it?
Was this all?

They are saying
Life goes on
They are saying
You wouldn't have wanted, that we'll mourn so long
They are saying
You would have wanted, that we'll think of you with a smile
Of you and the time we had with you

I don't want to hear it
I want to hide in a corner
I want to scream and cry
I want to turn back the time
I want to stop you entering this car
I want to wake up and learn, that all this hasn't happened
But it has happened
and you can't turn back the time
Alas

*applauds*

considering that's a translation, particularly from German, that's really good.

Thanks Embarassed Very Happy . When I wrote it, there were some lines I didn't like at first, but after one night sleep it sounded somehow better Very Happy . Apart from that I've noticed that writing helps a lot. No matter how the result sounds.

As I look through cold eyes; I could swear they're not mine,
Because nothing looks the same.
It's all shaded grey; it's beginning to fade,
I don't know who but you're not to blame.

My thoughts scamper past; as I look at these scars,
I am reminded once again.
The dark in my mind; which you'll never find,
If I break, you'll feel see it then.

I don't want to die; why should I,
Give you that satisfaction?
I don't want to live; I've got nothing to give,
Except for this desperation.

Another song, once again minus music and a chorus...I wrote it for a friend of mine, who is going through depression and I know what it's like, so the song is sort of about what it's like.

Another song, for another friend

Except this one will come into fruition, because
a) I've learnt how to make non-hideous sounding noises with a guitar
b) I have friends who can make the opposite of hideous sounding noises with a guitar
c) They're writing the music, I'm just writing the lyrics and basic tune.

Our friends going through a pretty hard time so my friend Jim and I thought it'd be nice to write him a song.

I see I forgot to post it, which is a shame, because I lost the original and would've liked to write some music for it. Damn Sad

Anyway, here's a song about insanity. It has music at the moment, but you can't hear it...it will most likely change and evolve anyway, but it makes musical sense in my head Razz

I see everything through broken glass,
I forgot how it broke.
I did not understand,
What it is you just spoke.

Chorus
Help me,
I've lost my way today.
Save me,
Quickly.

I just woke up and all was not right,
But it is because how else could it be?
I cannot run, I cannot move,
Stuck in the moment for a lifetime.

I want to tell you how it is I feel,
But what is this language you are speaking?
It seems familiar although I know it's wrong.
Or maybe I'm wrong, my memory's fleeting.
[/b]
