Ah, I've just started reading the delightful Ravensoul, and have to ask, why is the delicious cast list missing?

Funny you should mention that, Drizzt and I were wondering the same thing.

And yet, 60% into the book, I haven't missed it. Or the map... the story is concentrated around fewer characters and places than previous books so methinks cast lists and so forth, though a nice extra, would be an expense Gollancz may be keen to avoid given the current climate. Razz

True, it isn't really needed, especially the map beacuse it's in the other books, but the first thing I look for in a Barclay book is the cast list; it's a nice touch which i've always loved. But, hey hum, I'll survive without one...

To be honest, having finished the book today, I'm thinking the addition of a cast list would have given away a lot of surprises and appearances of old friends... Razz

Hmm, I guess that would be a very good reason to omit it...

In Barclay we trust.

You got it, Drizzt, old chum. Just too much of a giveaway this time round.

it could have been in the back of the book, that leaves it up to the reader to cheat if they want too? Also people like the wife (who dont retain info on who's who in their brains) need a prompt to remind them who the characters are and opossibly where they cropped up...or in this case died??
every night in bed while trying to read my own book...."Robin...who is XXXXX, what did he do in the story? which book was that? Blah blah...LOL!!

I think, even at the back, it would have been too much of a spoiler. I'm forever turning to the back of books to make sure the last page is actually there... Razz

Unlike myself who turns to the back of the book to make sure her favourite character is still alive Laughing
