It's amazing what a baby does to you! I bought Football Manager 2009 (my favourite series of PC games ever; I'm a footy geek!) and I've played it for about two hours in the last three months. I never thought I'd be taken away form my beloved PC, but Alex has managed to do that! Not that I'm complaining, though, as he is great fun!

It gets worse for the gaming Max... we bought an XBox 360 last Christmas and four games. Two of them are yet to be unwrapped. one I've played twice (Gears of War) and one is daft and we play it when drunk. Which hardly ever happens...

And I don't miss it at all.

I only play on the PC during writing breaks. Don't get many of those either (whine).

Bit of a surprise birthday prezzie for me yesterday (27 years young!) - the missus had phoned around the family and I've ended up with a PS3. Already planning a trip into town this weekend for various bits & pieces (extra controller & charging dock, HDMI cable, etc) now just running through what games to pick up.

List so far of various ones I'll pick up & try:

COD4 (it's a given - have wanted that since it was released)
Elder Scrolls Oblivion
Little Big Planet
Devil May Cry 4 (loved the originals on the PS2)
Half Life - Orange Box
Fallout 3
Ratchet & Clank

Other suggestions are welcome.

Uncharted : Drake's fortune, Bioshock and Burnout paradise.

I'm currently fighting my way through Fallout 3 and quite a bit annoyed that appears I can't go past lvl 20.

Borrowed a friend's copy of Battlefield: Bad Company over the weekend, VERY addictive & one that I might have to get hold of again in a couple of weeks time. Have plenty of other games to keep me going after a mini-spending spree over the weekend, not sure what to play on next!

Back playing COD: World At War. Actually, it's better this time around. Still not in the same league as COD4 but worthy enough. Not difficult enough (and anyone who's tried to get past the last sniper section in COD4 on Veteran knows what 'difficult' means.

Finished it, COD:WAW that is. It's short. And not that hard. Some of the gameplay is decent but overall, I'm disappointed.

And now, I have to put away the games for another couple of months while I finish the first elves book and draft the first Earth Guard book.

When I'm done, I have F.E.A.R. to play. I've heard good things... any opinions?

Is that F.E.A.R. or F.E.A.R. 2 you're on about James?

F.E.A.R. original. It's not bad. A little dated but good fun and with some extremely spooky moments. It's in the mould of many Sierra fps games.

Thought I'd do it before taking on the sequel.

Have you played either or both?

Demo'd F.E.A.R. 2, was a little too much on the weird side for me Laughing Couple of the guys at work absolutely love it though, say it's well worth getting, so I might just end up biting the bullet and picking it up anyway if I see a good price for it.

F.E.A.R. is getting very good. Tough challenges and some moments that really send the shivers through you and have you turning to look behind you.

Fine entertainment.
