Seriously thinking about getting Gears of War and the geek in me has ordered Star Trek: Legacy Smile

Both look like great games for the Xbox 360

Would also love to get Neverwinter Nights 2 for the PC, but need more memory first.

I finally caved and bought Gears of War.

I seriously think this game is going to set a precedent for FPS'

Not just for graphics, but having to take cover or get your head blown off is, although not new, so well implemented. Genius Very Happy

All on PC

Still playing Guild Wars... still having fun.

Others:
Sniper Elite - terrific and atmosphereic sneaking about first person shooter with lovely effects.
FIFA 2006 World Cup... the best FIFA game since FIFA 2002 cos the gameplay is right up there and not over-complex. However, the menu interface is utter crap and whoever designed it should be shot. It is clumsy, slow and completely unnecessary.

Dawn of war and Guild wars both on pc with the new expansions. On the Ps2 it's still Black, Burnout revenge (just never before driving anywhere when you have the same music on cd in the car!) and Lego star wars 2.

Well we'll have to see what the faeries bring you.

I've also bought Splinter Cell: Double Agent for XBox 360. Just what the doctor ordered - a little stealth/action Smile A treat as play.com were selling it 50% off.

Still playing Gears of War - still continuing to amaze.

TK - I must admit I'm really surprised by Gears of War. I thought it was going to be just another FPS with prettier graphics, but it's so much more than that.

I was in two minds whether to get it or not as I don't normally go for FPS. I'm really glad I did. In my opinion it kicks both Halo's arses.

If you get an opportunity to play it, do so, you won't be disappointed Very Happy

I believe it's a 360 release only for the time being.

I've not played it, but from what I hear (graphics aside, which are awesome) it's the same as many standard shoot 'em ups.

Manty - I think it's an XBox 360 exclusive for the time being. These things usually last for about a year. I'm sure I heard somewhere it might be coming to PC though. I'd be surprised if it didn't. It's a Microsoft game and so was Halo. Patience is a virtue Smile

In my opinion (I have it and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing it) there's nothing standard about Gears of War. It's a very next generation game. If you get the opportunity to play it, you won't regret it. I was hooked within an hour.

My Mam likes the advert for it because of the music..!

I might be wrong, but my failing memory tells me there were some pics somewhere of the game in a PC style game case which were dismissed as something the art depts had been working on or some such silliness...
