Hello all,

First of all, sorry if this is a repost, I'm new to the forum.

Greeting to all!

I can think of soooo many tremendous moments in all the Raven books, from opening a dimensional rift at the bottom of the ocean and killing thousands of Wesmen in Understone Pass, to the Raven coming across a group of impostors pretending to be them at the village of Cuff and Hirad not taking that too well! Very Happy

I just wondered what other moments really stood out for all you fans. I know there are so many...

Hello Rups, welcome to the forum.

Can you add a spoiler warning where necessary thanks.

As for fav moments - oh cripes that is a hard one!

I still love the moment when Hirad first meets Sha Kaan - pure class.

And Hirad's last scene in Demonstorm - with that grin Very Happy

And Ilkar's last scene in Elfsorrow was brilliant.

Then there's Selik's head scene.....

It's true, there are sooo many quality moments.

I did laugh loads when Sha Kaan toasted Styliann, I was willing him to and he did it!

Proper Dragon skills.

Sorry about the lack of spoiler action...

Blimey, favourite moments. Heck of a starting question, Rups! Welcome to the forum. Ones that I recall immediately:

Ilkar's final scene - I recently re-read that bit, and it's still as good as the first ime I read it.

The moment when Denser decided he was Raven, and not just a member of the Dark College.

The bit when Hirad works out who Sol the Protector is - one of the first moments in Dawnthief when I decided I just couldn't put down the book.

Not a particular scene as such, but the way Auum slowly succumbs to Hirad's 'charm' and begins to appreciate what the Raven can do.

I have many too... welcome Rups, by the way.

Hirad's first encounter with Sha-Kaan.
Ilkar's final moments.
The Raven meeting 'The Raven'.
The escape from Julatsa in Demonstorm
Something in Ravensoul. You'll know what it is when you read it...

I could go on... Protector and TaiGethen first combats. Dragon battles. Breaking into Xetesk.

you're the incarnation of evil ...

anyways for me personally ...

Hirads Final Moments was the greatest moment ever

When Auum and Duele Stride out and kill quite a few demons to revenge their fallen brother ( or was it evunn ... )

When the Unknown Dies vs the wolves , that for me was just such an amazing way to go.

(i have so many more than 3 by the way)

Any bit where Auum kills tends to be a favorite with me Smile

Also the bit where Aeb (i think) is hold Erienne and the gate closes, and he puts her down and grabs his sword .. that was brilliant

(I've probably remembered most of this wrongly, but my way is best Very Happy)

i've totally forgot a few things:

Hi Rups, welcome Smile

James Barcly is the 'incarnation of evil ... ' due to 'toying' with us in wake of Ravesoul ( give me the book now ?)

Also, The Raven Rage has to of made it onto the list (when they meet Thraun , Jandyr and Will Begman for the first time, also when richmond dies and later on Talan Leaves .... What ever happened to Talan ...I hope he comes back into Ravensoul! !!!!!!! if that is true i will love you james ..... just not in that way of course .... )

Its been some time since I read most of the books so from what I can remember:

First, an honourable mention goes to the scene in Demonstorm when Thraun is riding inside a wagon with Denser and Errienne. Suddenly he reaches outide grips something and then hauls a demon inside. Which is obviously insane, unless you happen to be a hulking great warrior who like to pass time running on four paws and howling at the moon. I can't remember what exactly he does to it but at the end of it Denser is so shaken up he's practically scrunching his arse shut to make sure he doesn't soil himself.
The moral is: don't mess with Thraun.

A second honourable mention goes to the scene in Noonshade when the Wesmen attack the protectors. First their dogs get slaughtered and then the men come on...and break against the protector line like the ocean against rocks!

Okay, my top three:

#3 From Demonstorm, the escape from Julutsa: Specifically when Auum rips a demon out of the air and wastes it. Then says something ice-cold like: "Now you know we can hurt you."

#2 From Demonstorm, when Auum and Evunn avenge Duele at Xetesk: Simply awesome. Tai Gethen doing what they do best, kicking arse and looking good doing it. Dystran's admiration adds to the flavour of it and the line "I, Auum am waiting" Sends shivers down the spine.

#1 In Shadowheart the fight in the catacombs of Xetesk. For a long time Shadowheart was my favourite book in the series for that scene alone. It was what, 40 or 50 pages and yet it was blitzing all the way!
Especially loved the bit where the Raven are fighting hard to stay alive (as they do) when Hirad suddenly sees the Tai Gethen hit the enemy from behind like a storm of destruction! It had me breathing hard like a fat lass in a cake shop!

Oh the caravan breakout from Julasta is truly great!

All Protector battles are worthy.

I liked the way I am shocked sometimes, for instance, when Blackthorn finds Fidget in his room and has just killed Luke.

The way that the dragons (the Skoor I think) still go and destroy the broodlands of the Koli...

Dimension Connect at Understone Pass
Hirad Meeting Sha-Kaan
Septern's Basement/Other Dimension
Casting of Blue Storm
Breaking into Xetesk
Ilkar's final Moments
Sha-Kaan appearing over Julatsa and scaring them all half to death XD
Raising the Heart

Dystan blasting a Master strain out the sky
The end of Ravensoul, "Shouldn't we have some cards or something?"

Note: Noonshade, Elfsorrow and Nightchild I haven't read in ages so don't remember much. Docks at Arlen I suppose because it's such a change.
