I as born and bred in Ipswich but didn't really start following the football until I left to go to college. I don't know quite how it happened but I started off just looking for the scores and before I knew it I was hooked! Very Happy A 9-0 loss to Man Utd was hardly the best way to start but I stuck at it and have been through all the highs and lows ever since (haven't been to as many games as I would have liked though, due to moving all around the country...)
I reckon we're looking good for at least a play-off spot this year, maybe even better if we can sort our away form out...

I thought Big Sam was The Toon's saviour! Pity he can't sort out that porous defence of yours...

I still haven't forgiven Kevin Keegan for leaving Razz Ahhhh, the good old days of Shearer and Ferdinand up front, with Asprilla giving us a match every other season.

Haha, even in an Ipswich thread I can turn the conversation to the Magpies! Laughing

And through clever use of the 'Bobby Robson' link I get things back on topic! Wink

Ah, Deornoth, good work.

For all you ignoramuses out there, we are having a good season. 5th in the league, 8 home league wins on the bounce this season but magnificently crap away from home.

Potentially better than all this is the proposed take-over of the club by Marcus Evans who is a shy and retiring type who happens to be loaded. He wants to take on all our debt and wipe it out, which would be amazing in itself, but also lodge ?12m of funds above that, so giving mighty Jim Magilton muscle in the transfer market.

If we play it right, the heady days of premiership football may not be too far away. St James's and the Toon, here we come Smile

Jim's found some real bargains so I'm just hoping that this cash injection doesn't send him off on a 'George Burley Shopping Spree'... Shocked
