I don't know how many of you are big horror fans but personally it comes just after fantasy for me.

I worked in a comic book store for 3 years around the time when the comic by Steve Niles came out and I read that and loved it.

I saw the movie this weekend and although they omitted and changed a few aspects of it I saw it as working for the film.

Aspects such as the whole existence of the elder vampire society disagreeing with the group going to Barrow as it might expose them was omitted and Instead of married couple the main characters were now a couple in separation.

It was wonderfully filmed (In NZ in some of the same areas as LOTR), well acted and really took the whole vampire genre up a notch.

My opinion though. Anyone else see it yet?

Not out in the UK just yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I've read the first series - the original 30 Days of Night and wasn't that impressed... I liked the story but didn't see it working in comic book style. Perhaps it was just because I only read superhero comic books and find other types of stories told in comic book odd.

However I am indeed looking forward to seeing the film.

Here in tiny little Canada they called it one of the most revolutionary books to come out of the independent comic book scene in years. I'd have to agree.

I've been reading comics since I was old enough to read. I love a little bit of everything (I have a HUGE soft spot for Grant Morrison's New X-men YEAH) But the more mature and I guess sort of artsy stuff works well with me.

I think thats why I really liked BT's art on 30days...It just seemed to work..

And I think that art translate wonderfully onto film

Saw the trailer about 3 weeks ago on facebook and was in need of seeing the movie ever since. It's not too long till it's released here. There's a poster for it on every bus shelter along my journey to work of a morning...

I have a great dislike of Grant Morrision's run on X-Men myself.... I know the series needed a change but I didn't like what he did with it personally.

I do agree that 30 days of Night was a revolutionary comic book, but I just didn't really take to it myself. I enjoyed it, but was disappointed and didn't feel it deserved the hype.
