When I want to concentrate hard on my work, I usually turn on something classical. At the moment it's Orff's Carmina Burana, but it can also be Mozart's Requiem or Dvorak's Symphony of the New World. The ones that say classical music is good for your intelligence have a point, at least for me.
My husband, on the other hand, works with Nightwish on, sometimes with "Over the Hills and Far Away" over and over again. At this point I usually ask him to use his headphones.

woooo, Nightwish! Very Happy

Turisas are good for atmosphere, though. Ensiferum are damn good too. A lot of folk/ folk metal is good for atmospheric work. (says the person who really needs to get back to doing her Uni FMP which she's not looked at for over a month) Embarassed

New Nightwish album, Dark Passion Play. It's their best work yet. A lot darker and heavier, but still very much the Nightwish people know and love.
Annette Olzon has done brilliantly with the vocals. Some great stuff on there. Very Happy
