All right, then, who should it be? Personally, I'd like to see us take on a rising star, like Ferguson or De Matteo. I fear we will go for experience and if that means Jewell, Mowbray or Curbishley, fair enough. If it means Warnock, I will have to wonder if I can support them while he is in charge, I really will.

I can't see Ipswich going for a rising star (as much as I would like to see someone like Di Matteo come in), I think the need for experience will win through... The East Anglian Daily Times reckons a new manager could be in place as early as next week. Alan Pardew anyone?

I reckon Iain Dowie, when his stint as coach ends at the Toon.

Curbishley will only go to a Prem team.

I also hear that Coppel (sp) has had enough of Reading...

Sooo Keano!...what do the tractor boys on here think? I think while he has some flashes of brilliance and commands respect, he is too damn tempremental for a managers job, he quit the last job when it got too tough, what will happen if it happens again? or perhaps a lower league will be easier for his out of the limelight? Question

I think it is a fantastic appointment. Very exciting. He'll instill pride, passion and keep the good football flowing. He'll command massive respect and players will once again die for the shirt.

Great news.

Wow... Shocked I didn't expect things to move that quickly!

I've got a couple of reservations about this move (Keane's bailing out on Sunderland and his ability in the transfer market...) but, at the same time, this is a guy who learnt his trade from Alex Ferguson... I'm not sure about his temperament but I do agree with everything James has said.
