Got this from Amazon today, wondered if anyone agreed with them.

We've noticed that customers who have expressed interest in The Cry of the Newborn: The Ascendants of Estorea Book 1 (Gollancz SF) by James Barclay have also ordered The Somnambulist (Gollancz S.F.) by Jonathan Barnes. For this reason, you might like to know that this book will be released on 22 February 2007. You can pre-order your copy for just ?5.99 (40% off the RRP) by following the link below.

I usually ignore amazon-recommendations, especially since they've recommended a French book to me Very Happy (the French words I know are bonjour and merci Wink ).
Anyway, I've never heard of that book Rolling Eyes .

Amazon recommendations have very little to do with anything really. They've never helped me, even once. In fact half the time I hate Amazon.

The trouble with Amazon recommendations is that they are based on people surfing around the site but they have no idea if what the customer is looking for is for them or a gift for someone else.

That's why storycode is better. Coding a story gets you books recommendations based on the code you just inputted... sorry, couldn't resist the plug.

they could do with a garding system so you could say that an item you bought was for you or a gift.

then they could reccomend for both groups

My favourite Amazon rec email was the one that noticed I'd bought the 30th Anniversary box set of Bruce Springsteen's classic Born to Run album, and on that basis assumed I'd be interested in a copy of Classic FM Mozart for Babies...
