Well, it's been longer than I desired but the first of my new trilogy is complete and will be delivered to Gollancz on Monday 6th April. Just got to do a final read-aloud to try and pick up errors and daft phrasing etc

It's called: Once Walked With Gods.

I rather like the title and, at long last, I rather like the book too! Cool

Ah, Manty, always wanting details.

Well, it's set about three thousand years before The Raven and is based firmly on Calaius. There are a few names you'll recognise and the whole trilogy, which will span the time up to the invention of Dawnthief or thereabouts, should fill in a whole lot of history of both elves and men.

Come the revolution, brother, the Gazetteer will be first on the to do list. All I have to do now is plot the revolution. This involves finishing another book and finding that lovely place, a few days free to indulge in lovely stuff like Raven websites.

One of these days, I'll surprise you, I promise.

Can't describe how much i'm looking forward to this. It's always good to hear that there's going to be more books on Balaia.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, Boggy, but the books don't go as far as the births of any of The Raven.

Auum, though. Him you meet.

That's a shame but I'm still looking froward to reading them

So how many years are we going back then?

I know Auum is quite old

About three thousand years or so. Auum is indeed old. Still in the prime of life though.

That's immortals for you (or those who are effectively immortal). More of that sort of thing in the book itself.
