And, indeed, why...? I've not put it in as a poll as it would, inevitably, behave like a cast list to those unwarily clicking on this post! Razz

So, which characters caught your eye? Whose journey(s) kept you turning pages? Who surprised you? Who have you come away form the book admiring?

Hirad will always be my favorite character , but i think Denser had the most interesting character arc . I found myself quite disliking him halfway through but redeeming himself and making a noble choice at the end. Very Happy

I'd have to say I found Denser and the Barons most interesting. Denser for similar reasons to Skandranon, and the barons for the more comic value.
Balaia's being torn apart, he's dying from cancer and Gresse is laid out on the ground laughing his arse off. Very Happy

Hirad always has and always will be my favourite Raven character but looking at Ravensoul alone and I have to say jonas was in the running for my pick of the bunch. Just a shame we never got to see more of him (hint hint Laughing )

Auum for me. Plays such a huge role in keeping people alive at first, and then together at the end, that it just couldn't be anyone else.

Jonas definitely. Every bit Sol's son there.

Sol. My God the poisoning and the aftermath of it simply took things to a whole new level.

Although, Denser's was an unexpected but welcome plotline that seemed to reflect a little of his character in Dawnthief Wink

Might have helped that I read Dawnthief just before buying Ravensoul to pick up on that XD

While all the characters are great I have to say I enjoyed Auum's deadly fighting style the best in Ravensoul. It was a thrill to read about his fights and imagine how lightning fast he would be.

Hello Shriker and welcome to the forum. Auum is a firm fav of mine and I'm looking forward to his early story in James' new trilogy out next year.
