Here's hoping it can help him in his cause of increasing awareness of Alzheimer's Disease.

OBE= Order of the British Empire/ MBE = Member of the British Empire

I can't remember what a CBE is, but an OBE is a higher award than the MBE. I believe it goes, MBE, OBE, CBE.

Anyone feel free to correct me should I be wrong in that.

I found some nice definitions here. Anyway, if you ever have any problems with acronyms, check www.acronymfinder.com - as a translator, I find this resource really helpful.

Coming back to the topic, great news about Pratchett.

Have to agree with everyone else - one of the more deserving Knighthood's handed out on the day! Very Happy

And here, here to the long-life and cure for Alzheimer's. Very Happy

Well deserved I think Very Happy

I knew an old man who was ground crew for the dambusters during WW2 and he always said that an MBE was my bloody effort and an OBE was other buggers efforts , dont think its entirely accurate but it always made me smile Very Happy Very Happy
