The sequel, of sorts, to Life on Mars starts tomorrow on the BBC.

Anyone a fan of Life on Mars and looking forward to this? I really liked the show, but I'm not too sure about this one. It'll be funny to see it set in the 80s as it is a decade I can just about remember having been born during it (in fact I'd be 1 years old when the show starts).

Just hope it isn't the same old jokes with a different character...

I was a huge fan of Life on Mars and have really high hopes for this. Like most people, I think Gene Hunt was the real star last time, and I hope they get the balance right with him and his un-PC comments, whilst maintaining a good plot line. It's got a good cast, so here's hoping! I'll let you know my first thoughts at the weekend.

Good start - first epsiodes are always a little worrying as you have to pick up loads of things at once, but this went straight into the action, was suitably tongue-in-cheek, picked bits of the 80s really well (and as fro Zippy and George!!!) and has got lots of promise. I think it will settle down in the next few weeks and I'll be sticking with it for now.

Yeah the Zippy and George thing was freaky!

I liked the first episode, haven't had a chance to see the second one yet.

The scene with the speed boat and the machine guns was just quality.
