Went to see this the other night with my sis and two cousins and I can recommend it to all and sundry. Twas better than I thought it would be.

You can't help but like this film, it has more or less everything you could want in a fairytale: fencing, fighting, witches, baddies, goodies, true love, crossdressing... no stone has been left unturned. Razz

Though it's a fairytale it still managed to be grown up enough for us who were watching it, there were loads of laughs, the effects were very well done (nice and subtle where they needed to be, they didn't take over the movie) and you can tell the on-screen talent had some fun. Damned charming film once it gets going (takes maybe 20 minutes or so to get into its groove).

Go see Very Happy

I liked it, too. It keeps a balance between love story and comic elements, and a healthy dose of irony prevents it from becoming too sweet and romantic.

Due to see it at the weekend and looking forward to it.

Hear it is akin to the excellent Princes's Bride which is one of my favourite films.

I can see some of the similarities...but Princess Bride will always be a winner for me. In my top five..

I searched the world (or rather the GTA) for a man to make me feel like that hot Cory made buttercup feel.

Favourite scenes would have to be Robert De Niro with a tutu and pink fan dancing to the can can. And Mark Strong's dead body being brought back by voodoo to fight charlie cox.

Brilliant film. Want to go see it again. Smile

Loved the book, debating whether to see this or '30 days of night'... Confused
I've heard mixed reviews about Ricky Gervais, do you guys think he's any good in this?

He's not in it for long and I had a good giggle at him when he was, and I don't normally find him too funny. I cannot strses enough how much I recommend you see see this instead of '30 Days of Night'. Hugely disappointed with that.
