I bought a DS for my wife last monday.....she's really happy with it.

But.....most of the games are more "girly-games" instead "games-for-real-men".... Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

(no I don't like Super Mario..... Cool )

Myself, I'd go with PSP...but I really don't know anything about DS, and I have a real anti-Nintendo bias for some reason.

It depends... the PSP is pretty much on its way out already. Poor battery life and no original games (mostly direct ports from PS1 or PS2 games) does not a good handheld system make.

PSP games really aren't well made for a portable machine, they are the type of games you can get for a full system. I mean playing Medal on Honor whilst on a short train journey?

The DS however is great fun. The games are accessible and many can be picked up and played for a few minutes or for a few hours depending on your need. The DS has standard action games like Castlevania and Metroid, but with a DS twist. Clever interactive games like Trauma Center (a surgery sim), Phoenix Wright (where you play a lawyer looking for clues and then fighting the case in court) and Hotel Dusk a kinda choice your own adventure book. However, the most fun comes from games like Warioware and Brain Training.

The DS also has Mario Kart which, for me, was a selling point and half.

If you want a games system to play stuff like Metal Gear Solid or Medal of Honor, then by a PS2 - it'll be cheaper than a PSP and easier to play. If you want a hand held system for portable reasons, then nothing beat the DS for pick up and play games.
