(i hope this is ok james, if not just let me know)

Ok this is a request for anyone who fancies doing a bit of test reading... Unfortunately its unpaid..but it may be fun!

I have a couple of books at present that are almost through the edit process and ready for submission, but i'd like to test them against the average joe (or jane) reader to see what their reaction is.

I cannot promise everyone will get a go but will try and spread it around, also i will take into account if you have time to do it when the book is ready.

I currently have one almost ready to go! See synopsis

The discovery of Atlantis has led to the British Empire waxing in power in the early 20th century instead of waning. The discovery of power crystals allowed the construction of great monolithic dreadnaughts which rule the skies and waves, enforcing the Empire?s will. A British archaeological team exploring Atlantean ruins discover an amazing artefact called the Nucleus which is a massive depository for long forgotten Atlantean knowledge. On investigating an outpost of Atlantis for power crystals, the elite Nightshade Division are attacked by strange deadly creatures and barely get out alive. The British Empire's top agent, John Murdoch joins forces with the elite Nightshade Division's Captain John Riley in a desperate race against time to stop unseen evil forces from launching a deadly attack against the greatest empire the world has ever seen.......

I'd be interested, but not so much if it'd be a computer copy. Reading a screen does my eyes in.

Sorry Robin, I'm with Grace, I can't abide reading off a computer screen and as I'm never sure when I'm working I doubt I'd be reliable enough for you. Good luck anyway! Laughing

unfortunatly as the books are unpublished they would be in word format, Me im the same i doint read on screen i print it out...but thats what big componies are for (allowing me to abuse the printers) Very Happy

Lizzy Drizz if your still up for it i will drop you a line very soon with the email copy of the book, you dont need to go to town proofing or editing, this is just a general reading exercise.

A how does it go down with you, I will be trusting you to keep the copy to yourselves, and im only asking people here (cos yous family) Very Happy

I shall of couse extract a promise to not use or reproduce the book in any form, its got a copyright anyway...but hey...it has to be said even with family Very Happy

really appreciate the help, i think its a great book and just want to get some other opinion before i push it with pubkishers

Send away sir. This weekend's bad for most as it's Alt.Fiction so you'll have a lot more look after that.

How quick a turnaround will you be after?

I'll tell you what General, I'd wouldn't mind taking a look myself, and you can trust me to tell you exactly what I think of it Razz I always enjoy a good read, and unlike you old folks, I've grown up reading off computer screens Razz although, admittedly, I enjoy literature more on paper Very Happy

Hi General, if you're still touting for business, I'd be interested in being a reader. I'm around a little infrequently at the moment (DIY getting in the way!), so please take this as a general expression of interest if you continue doing this. Thanks!
