the 300 refers to the spartans the others were vassels and slaves considered by the spartans to be beneath warrior status therfore in their eyes there were only 300 warriors.

Hehe... there was still about 7000 there. Yes, the Spartans led the defence and yes, Leonidas led the Spartans and yes, it's one of the great 'last stands' from history. But, there wasn't just the Spartans there. Nor was there a million Persians. Laughing

Good story, though. And Leonidas DID challenge the Persians to "Come and take them!" when they were told to give up their weapons. How cool is that?!!

There was an interview with the film director Danny Boyle on Radio 5 this afternoon about the film Sunshine, with a bit of luck, this is the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/fivelive_aod.shtml?fivelive/danny_boyle

it must be that im a history buff, so like to see it done proper like!! Cool

It's exactly the same for me with this premise, I'm a science buff and I like to see things done properly.

And yes, I like Star Wars but most of the technology in the movie is possibly attainable for humanity...Stephen Hawking agrees with me Very Happy

And thirdly, bringing the Raven into it is uncalled for, the Raven is based in a fictional world, with fictional magic. Ergo, anything is possible, whereas this movie, I assume, is based upon our current world, either now or in the future, and therefore should try to stay in the realistic area of the sprectrum.

It's also classed as a Sci-fi film, making it fictional.

I'm looking forward to it, seems like something worth watching.
