Ah, now you see there, General, I've never once played a basketball game where people stopped to pass, either because you're constantly running and passing, running and passing, or because the opposition are far taller than my fellow players and I can't see where to pass to.

I've played both and I find they require a similar amount of endurance.
On the other hand, thinking about it, the Point Guard is the player in basketball that goes everywhere and does everything, which was the position I played, which may explain my opinion.

the only player in 5 a side who does not move constantly is the keeper, everyone else moves all the time...that or they lose!

got to go...arsenal v spurs is just kicking off.

Besides, if you count 5 a side soccer as a sport (which I wasn't really, because I thought we were in the realms of professional sports), then 5 a side soccer loses in the endurance and speed categories to 3 on 3 full court basketball. It's the same size as a normal basketball game, but more intense playing. You cannot stand still for a second, on defense, you have to follow your man EVERYWHERE, because unlike normal basketball, zone defense has a zero percent chance of success. On offense you have to move around because the damned defense won't leave you alone. Turnovers means extra hard sprinting for the offense, smelling the sweet aroma of an open basket drifting on the breeze, and for the defense, seeing the stone-cold abyss of humiliation opening wider as your opponent closes the gap to the basket.

Also, in 3 on 3, it's generally a street game, and with the kind of guys I usually play with, you not only have to win in points, but in style. And if you want skill, you should see some of the stuff that street ballers can pull off. Now that's skill.

So 3 on 3 full-court basketball wins; speed, endurance and skill Very Happy

Nay, 5-a-side wins. Even if my team doesn't! Razz

Or Futsal even, as it's played increasingly professionally on the continent. Futsal's slower, but ridiculously skillful. It's being slowly introduced over here too with gradual rule-changes planned over the next few years to ease it in. Eventually.

I have played Futsal. It's a respectably difficult game. Not like soccer Razz

(I'll aways get a cheap shot in Razz)

Who thinks Ronaldo will do well at Milan or is he a has been ?, ordinarily Id say he wouldnt get in the Milan team , but Inzaghi is getting very old and Gilardino as inconsistant as hell sometimes. Personally I think Ronaldo has talent but he needs to be fed like an ordinary striker nowadays ( theres puns there to be made about his size i know) , whereas a few years back you could give him the ball anywhere and he burst into the box and cause damage. Nowadays he is more like to burst into a Pie shop and cause damage.
