Who would be in your team of the season so far? My XI would be:

James
Neville
Terry
Vidic
Ronaldo
Van Persie
Scholes
Essien
Drogba
Doyle

I can't think of a left back tho, who do you think? Evra, Clichy, Riise, Cole?

Terry wouldn't be there for me, not played enough recently. david james wouldn be my choice, van der sar, jaaskelainan and friedel have all done better. sol campbell has been great at portsmouth so he would partner vidic in defence of the season so far. Ashley cole would be my left back, as even though hes had a few mediocre games, he handled ronaldo amazingly well when chelsea played at old trafford. up front with drogba i would go for van persie, with arteta in midfield. obviously if it was a premiership 11 then henry would feature along with rooney perhaps, but as its based on performance this season i would go with-

GK- jaaskeleinan
RB- neville
LB - ashley cole
CB- vidic
CB - campbell
RM- Essien
LM - Ronaldo
CM - Scholes
CM - Arteta
F - Drogba
F- Van Persie

Here we go :

Gk - Jaaskaleinen (bol)
dr - Neville (manu)
dl - Taylor (port)
dc - Campbell (port)
dc - Lescott (eve)

Mid l - Ronaldo (manu)
mid c - Arteta (eve)
Mid c - Barry (A villa)
Mid r - Gamst Pederson (bla)

str - Drogba (che)
str - Van Persie (ars)

I have to mention though , people i ommited , primus has had a great season , as has Tim Howard and Martins and Berbatov as of late have been pretty useful too .

The classic 4-4-2 for me!

Given (Newcastle)

Neville (Mancs)
Terry (Chelsea)
Carragher (Liverpool)
Evra - actually looks good this season! (Mancs)

Ronaldo (Mancs)
Fabregas (Arsenal)
Essien (Chelsea)
Lennon (Spurs)

Henry (Arsenal)
Drogba (Chelsea)

I chose Terry, because you can see how much Chelsea struggle without him, but Campbell would also be a good choice. I know I said Prem XI, but recently for Arsenal Kolo Toure has been amazing, a consistent performer for us.

James because 9 clean sheets, and only the top 4 have conceded less i think, and he has really kept portsmouth in some games.

I dun agree with the Arteta choice, i would choose other players before him, fabregas and alonso to name two.

You've gotta have Doyle in there, first season in the prem and he has been excellent. Scholes has been outstanding, Essien is just a monster, whether in cm, rm or rb.

I agree totally , Doyle has been good too but i felt id be putting him coz it'd be like ahh give him a chance hes done well for them as opposed to he was the best striker, but my argument falls down here because i voted for two underdogs in the middfield because they have done well despite mixed fortunes, I think I am a touch hypocritical Wink .

No left back?? Taylor from Portmsouth has been good this season , popped up with goals and assists!!. I wanted to put Given as my gk but felt ppl would see me as biase Smile .Most people have Neville....is that a pat on the back for neville or a slight on the Prem for now having enough great full backs? .

Fabregas and Taylor have been amazing. Toure for me has been inconsistent. seems to me a few good recent performances are hiding his previous poor games, eg getting punked by sheffiled utds Christian Nade. Arteta is hoping to be called up for spain which shows how well he's been playin, i didnt even know he was spanish before this season.

I have grudging respect for Neville, what with me being a Liverpool fan. Anyone who gets 80-odd England caps, plays at right back for the Mancs for 10 years and captains them has to be a good player. I think he is under-rated at times as he is all business, and not an exciting player to watch. However, this season I think he has added to his game by being more attacking than I can ever remember.

There aren't that many great right backs around in the Premiership, but I need to make a mention of Finnan - he is one of our most consistent players, hardly makes a mistake and is responsible for quite a few goals with his crossing.

If anyone watched MOTD2 last night they will agree with me that uniteds defence against tottenham was simply outstanding. that includes the midfield too who all did thier bit in defence, even ronaldo. united's back four is one of the best in the world at the moment, and thats without gabi heinze who is, lets face it, a world class player.

Yes but hes no Haydon Foxe or matty heathe now is he ?, eh eh eh , watch out Leeds are rock bottom now, even if we made a championship XI i dont think any of them would be there!. I am a Newcastly fan as I have pointed out , but alas the team I randomly adopted as a boy is still the score I look for on a saturday , and it is still the result that can make or break how happy I am on a saturday (well in Taiwan it tends to be how happy I am at 3 am sunday) , never the less I am depressed and had to put this in somewhere.
The follys of supporting a crap team.....
