Ok, so who's read it and what did you think and how cool is Septern out of 10?
I really enjoyed it and I liked Septern - would that I were a promising mage with a chance to learn from someone like him! _________________ Pagan Music |

Got it at Fantasy Con and at first I wasn't so sure on Septern. Granted I could see he was one hell of a mgae, but I couldn't stand his arrogance. lol.
However, by the end of it, I loved him... now there's a radical change. _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

most definately!!!
I loved Septern - he could be interpreted as being confident, rather than just plain arrogant. I'd give him 7.
Lightstealer is fantastic. Gives you background on how events happened as well as being a wonderful tale of and in itself. _________________ A very happy Yule to all!!

I read it and loved it and Septern. The twist at the end is neat _________________

oops, out of ten I forgot to do, though okay I'll sort of agree with you, Jen. But it did come across to me as pretty arrogant, but then he has cause to be, not that that makes it any better, but you know what I mean.
Out of ten I give him.... 7/8 _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

I loved lightstealer, the twist at the end was awesome, I really enjoyed it because the twist was completely unexpected since there wasn't any room for any build up of a twist, if that makes sense.
It's a great read and I will happily read it again knowing that i will enjoy it, I think the world of the raven fits fantastically into little novella's, like in the other thread I would love to see a short novella about each of the raven characters.

Read Lightstealer and thought it was a wonderful read. I really like Septern, I thought he was perfectly written.
Gotta give him 7 or 8 out of 10 _________________ "Man, all this prolonged exposure to radiation is making me thirsty." |

I'd give him 8/9 for coolness, but have to mark him down for being a little blind to the bigger picture. But hey, he was a visionary.
As for the book, I really enjoyed it as it did provide some good context to 'modern' Balaia. _________________ If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. |
