There's resting and there's slipping into a coma... welcome back indeed!

For me, it just show the depth of character, but James is willing to change, grow, and bold. I saw a re-read the first three sitting in it so I can reread it again!

Very Happy Just bought the new edition of Dawnthief, had been out of stock at many stores this year. I Love the new cover! it's the only book i've been dreaming of owning. I think Erienne is on Noonshade, which is a little odd to me as her main story is in Nightchild. I've read them multiple times so i know who's in which part quite well. My favorite parts are of Ilkar and Denser arguing about ethics.
i agree that the word 'elite' is right to summarize the Raven. Unstoppable only at the beginning but by middle a few were passed on.

Kim, here. I’m a few years late to this party… ha! I actually read the Elves books first, which I regret because I think the story would have felt more organic if I’d read it in the order written (also, spoilers!) The Elves books are absolutely superb, but I guess that’s for another thread. Elfsorrow was my vote, and part of the reason I wish I’d read it before I read the Elves books. It was delightful following the Raven onto the continent of the elves for the first time, learning their gods and their ways. My favorite characters, Hirad and Auum, night and day I know, meet for the first time in an expectedly unpleasant way! I love it. Love this book, and begrudgingly forgive Ilkar’s death. <3

Welcome Kim, you've probably spotted the forums are a bit quiet now, not quite like in their hey day.
Some of us do monitor them still, so feel free to ask questions.

What a bummer! I guess I should have read the books when they came out, but alas, I'm creeping through a haunted corridor. I'm grateful there was one ghost to greet me, at least. Smile

So glad to meet you. I do have a question....

I've created a cleric in my 5th Edition D&D game who is a follower of Yniss. My husband had to pull some stats out of his butt to accommodate me, but I was wondering what an Ynissul's stats would be (like +2 to dex, and the like) and whether Yniss would be a god of Life or Nature, or either. Just a fun concept to kick around...

Since the Raven are based on an original RPG party James was in, he might have some ideas. I'll see if I can attract his attention to the post Smile
