And the winner is... Andrzej Sapkowski and his "Blood of Elves".

It should be a great read, unless the translator messed it up. Sapkowski is probably the most famous Polish fantasy writer, his books were made into a film (awful, I must admit), RPG and computer game.

Anyway, I first read Sapkowski's short stories and novels when they first appeared (I was in high school then). And I remember how I eagerly waited for the next tomes to come out.

So how well did the auction go? i put in a couple of email bids, but i have no idea how high things went on the night, as i didnt hear anything i guess i didnt bid high enough.
But then i expected that might be the casue, once there and full of beer people would have had looser wallets... Very Happy

It went really well. We raised £1190 for Medicins Sans Frontieres

The copy of Legend went for £510, the appearance in Stan's book for £200 and the Jaguar weekend for a (bargain) £155. Great fun.

James,
Am I right in thinking that Elves: Once Walked with Gods is on the longlist for the 2011 DGLA Legend Award?

Methinks there may be some people on here who may want to pop over to the DGLA website (http://gemmellaward.com/) to see for themselves...
