A reminder for those who know and a piece of hot news for those not in the know… I’ll be signing copies of Elves: Once Walked With Gods, at Waterstone’s Peacock Centre, Woking this coming Saturday 11th September between 12 noon and 1.30pm.

Actually I’ll sign any books you bring along (though protocol dictates that I should probably have authored hte books you wish me to sign) and am happy to chat about anything Raven, Elven or Ascendant you want to discuss. Get yourselves along or I’ll look terribly sad and lonely at my table all by myself surrounded by piles of my books and attended by uncomfortable booksellers with paper-thin sympathetic smiles.

So yes I’m begging you. Don’t make me do this on my own. Spare an author a few minutes of your time. Give generously. No cause is worth more than the buffing of my ego to a dazzle. I mean, look at that face. Could you make it cry? Could you? Really?

Look and love. Here’s the artwork for Elves book 2 – Rise of the TaiGethen. It is absolutely stunning. For me this is a pretty much perfect representation of a TaiGethen warrior. Not the sort of chap you want to be on your tail. Not that you’d know he was on your tail of course. Not until the very, very last moments of your life…

The Raven available on Kindle

Right, for those leading the digital reading revolution, or whatever the Kindle represents (my wife haas one and they are really very good. Brilliant for holiday reading if you want to avoid excess baggage), The Raven books are making their way onto this downloadable format. So far, Dawnthief and Noonshade are available, clicke either title for the link to amazon. Nightchid should follow shortly and I’ll post the link when it does.

US Legends of the Raven cover artist announced

Really exciting news. The absolutely amazing Raymond Swanland has agreed to create the cover art for Legends of the Raven to be published by Pyr late in 2010. Whether you know him by name or not, you’re liable to have come across his work. He’s an artist for the massive Magic: The Gathering franchise among other impressive clients but who cares about that? Look at the man’s site and the gallery of his work. It’s magnificent.

Legends to be published in the US

Great news today. The magnificent Lou Anders and Pyr Books are going to publish the Legends of the Raven trilogy following on from the gathering success of the Chronicles series (they’ve only been out a couple of months so it’s hard to claim more at this stage…).

At the moment, publication looks likely for December 2010, January and February 2011. I’ll let you know if that changes.

Oh, and there is really exciting news afoot about the cover artist. I can say no more at this stage as things aren’t signed and sealed yet but if it comes off, we’ll have stunning covers, of that you can be certain. Irritated I won’t give a name? Excellent… more the moment I am allowed to say it.

Well, as you can possibly guess, the latest review for Noonshade is rather lovely so I thought I’d link it from here for you. But first, a wee quote:

Multiple plots are detailed and woven together in an incredible fashion. The story yanked us along and we loved every minute of it–all the way up to, and including, the satisfying conclusion. At this time we would like to remind you all that this is, in fact, the second book of a trilogy. So let us repeat this. There is a satisfying conclusion. Let there be much rejoicing in the land!

And if you haven’t done so, it really is worth bookmarking the site. Not just for me (though clearly that is reason in itself) but because they are delivering fine interviews from good authors and reviewing a healthy number of books and doing it really well.
